1967: A Coming of Age Story officially launched in October, 2019 with McNally Robinson, Winnipeg, Manitoba
What an experience! Thank you to McNally Robinson, the Yorkton Press, Coles Bookstore and Jeannie’s Bakery for supporting my debut book launch. I met some wonderful people and to hear so many great reviews and insightful comments and feedback on my story was both inspiring and touching.
Live and in person: At the Coles Parkland Mall Bookstore, Yorkton, Saskatchewan, October 2019, in the town 1967 – a coming of age story is set
Signing copies of my new book, “1967 – a coming of age story,” during my Yorkton launch. Set in Yorkton during 1967 (none of this is a coincidence!), “1967” is deceptively simple in its writing style. Chinese groceries stores in the front half of a house, three flavours of ice cream (four, if you count Neapolitan), Chuck Taylor high tops, baseball ball cards attached to bike spokes, and being out all day until it got dark, all figure into this debut Canadian novel.
Six readings on the Bruce: My Bruce County Library Tour, November 2019
Six library readings on the Bruce in November, including Wiarton, Southhampton, Tobermory, Sauble Beach, Port Elgin, and last but not least, Lion’s Head. Great discussions about writing, the source material for my novel, and general questions about the mysteries of life (no answers, just questions).
BookCon: A Celebration of Storytelling May 2019, Javits Center NYC
Last but not least, a pre-release opportunity to read from the soon-to-be-published novel. I was fortunate to grab a pot on the Downtown Stage at BookCon and read an excerpt of the soon-to-be-published 1967 – a coming of age story.
